Program Objectives

The program objectives of the IPN are to expand student horizons in world culture and diversity; provide an international perspective and context for nutrition and nutrition education and for program planning, generate a student global consciousness for nutrition and hunger concern; provide an introduction to the historical, cultural, and scientific aspects of the Mediterranean region, specifically as they relate to food and health; increase and expand career options for Penn State students to include international health and nutrition.

The purpose of The International Program in Nutrition is to add an international component to the nutrition curriculum as well as to provide nutrition students and others with the opportunity to explore specific issues related to global nutrition and dietary patterns.
